Welcome to MadTravels:)
Hi, I’m Maddie, a traveler, writer, and creative who believes in building a life shaped by curiosity, freedom, and meaningful experiences.
I grew up in Denver, Colorado, spent four years in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan, and now call New York City home. I work in health tech now, but travel has always been the constant that continues to expand how I see the world and what I believe is possible.
My love for travel started early. From ages 11 to 18, I was part of an international youth organization called CISV, where I lived and learned alongside people from all over the world. That experience sparked a deep appreciation for culture, connection, and different ways of living.
Since then, I’ve lived abroad in Spain and Portugal, road-tripped across the U.S., summited Mount Kilimanjaro, and explored much of Europe, Central and South America, and parts of Africa. I’ve traveled on tight budgets and stayed in luxury hotels, and every version has shaped how I travel and live today.
MadTravels is where I share those experiences in hopes they encourage you to live more adventurously and intentionally. You’ll find destination guides, thoughtful reflections, and practical insights, not just on where to go, but on how to design a life that leaves room for exploration, creativity, and growth.
I’m also open about my journey learning how to get paid to travel and build a career that genuinely excites me. I share what I’m learning along the way, including the experiments, progress, and lessons, so you can explore what might be possible for you too.
This space is for anyone who feels drawn to a more expansive way of living and wants to create it on their own terms. If something here resonates or helps you see a new possibility, I’m glad you found your way here!
xoxo Maddie
